About Michelle
Michelle Strause started practicing law in 1986. She retired from her family law practice in 2021. Michelle now focuses her time serving as a mediator for family law cases in Arkansas. She was born in Independence, Missouri and raised in Conway, Arkansas. She is a graduate of St. Joseph High School. She holds a BA in History from Hendrix College and a Juris Doctor from the William H. Bowen School of Law at The University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Michelle also studied History at Oxford University’s St. Peter's College, Oxford, UK. Michelle has extensive legal experience as an attorney, mediator and has even served as special judge in domestic and juvenile courts in Garland County.
Michelle was AV rated by lawyers.com and Martindale-Hubbell named a Client Champion beginning in 2005. She is a recipient of a Professionalism Award from the Garland County Bar Association and has served as Garland County Bar Association’s President and Secretary. Michelle has also served in the Arkansas Bar Association’s House of Delegates, the Committee on Legal Services to the Deaf, and on the Committee to make recommendations on the Rules of Professional Conduct. In 2020 and 2021, Michelle was voted Best Attorney in the Sentinel Record Newspaper and in 2020 was voted Arkansas Top Attorney by Arkansas Life magazine readers.
Michelle is married and has one son. She loves spending time with her rescue dogs, reading, practicing yoga, and traveling.
